  TRUTH          2/50

1.    We Can Find Truth in the Bible.
Truth comes from God. Psalm 119 tells us that truth comes from God and that it will last forever.
salm 119:160. All your words are true. All your laws are right. They last forever.
Isaiah 45:19 I have not spoken in secret.
I have not spoken from a dark place.
I have not said to Jacob’s people,
‘It is useless to look for me.’
I am the Lord. I always speak the truth.
I always say what is right.

We need to read the Bible so we can understand the truth about God, His son Jesus Christ, and about God's plan with people and the earth.
2.   Truth Comes from God.
God wants us to learn and understand His truth because He wants us to choose to live His way not the way of the world or our own way. He wants to save us from all of the problems of this world including death.
1 Timothy 2:3. That is good. It pleases God our Saviour. 4 He wants everyone to be saved. He wants them to come to know the truth.
Psalm 19:7-8.  The law of the Lord is perfect. It gives us new strength.
The laws of the Lord can be trusted. They make childish people wise.
The rules of the Lord are right. They give joy to our hearts. The commands of the Lord shine brightly. They give light to our minds.
When we read the Bible our understanding will grow and God’s message will become clear to us. We can find truth in the Bible.

We cannot trust men. Governments are corrupt and the world is full of problems. People think that money can buy solutions but usually it just makes more.

3.   We Can Learn to Worship God in the True Way.

John 4:24.God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

When people worship God, they have to believe and live the way the Bible teaches.

2 Timothy 2:15.Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

4.                  4.    Truth Sets us Free From Sin and Death.

John 8:31-32 Jesus spoke to the Jews who had believed him. “If you obey my teaching,” he said, “you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth. And the truth will set you free.”

We learn the truth by reading and understanding God's word for ourselves. Only the truth will set us free from sin and death.

We can only know the truth of the Bible if we spend time reading and studying it for ourselves.  It is important to compare what we believe with what God's Word really says; so that we are sure we believe the truth and not error.
Psalm 119:142. You always do what is right. And your law is true.
Romans 15:4 Galatians 1:11

Many people look for truth and the best way to live. God has given us the Bible to learn truth and how to follow His son Jesus. This can take time but it is a wonderful treasure when we find truth.

Psalm 119:105
Your word is like a lamp that shows me the way.
It is like a light that guides me.
